To receive as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 27 October 2016 .

Minutes:

The Committee considered the minutes of the last meeting of the Committee held on 27 October 2017 and in doing so reference was made to the decision taken at the last meeting in relation to the DEC2 Polling Place and the prospect of reviewing that decision in the future.

 

The Committee was advised of the on-going review process and that a statutory review of all polling districts and polling places would commence in 2018.

 

RESOLVED      That the minutes of the meeting held on 27 October 2016, be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

INTERIM POLLING REVIEW 2016 - FINAL PROPOSALS pdf icon PDF 1 MB

To consider the report of the Borough Solicitor.

Minutes:

Consideration was given to the report of the Borough Solicitor, as contained on pages 31 to 44 of the Book of Reports, which presented the Final Proposals for Burscough East Ward Polling District BEC and Wrightington Ward Polling District WRD and the comments set out in the report in response to the consultation process.

 

RESOLVED  A.    That the proposals for the Polling Place of Polling District BEC, as detailed in Appendix 1 to the report, be noted and theBEC Polling Place be designated as ‘Mobile Unit on Heathfields Estate Park’, on the basis that the arrangements put in place would provide all electors with such reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable in the circumstances and, so far as is reasonable and practicable are accessible to all electors, including those with disabilities.

 

B.     That the proposals for the Polling Place of Polling District WRD, as detailed in Appendix 2 to the report, be noted and theWRD Polling Place be designated as ‘St. Teresa’s Catholic Club’, on the basis that the arrangements put in place would provide all electors with such reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable in the circumstances and, so far as is reasonable and practicable are accessible to all electors, including those with disabilities.
