That WLBC enter into a building contract for the refurbishment of Burscough Sports Centre

In 2019, it was estimated that the cost of accidental strikes on underground pipes and cables was £1.2 billion a year to the UK’s economy. It was decided that a map of utility assets would enable organisations that regularly dig, to check for underground infrastructure before they begin digging.
This is to be called the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR).
In order for WLBC to have access to this new system, we need to provide the data sets that we have at WLBC that we can add to the NUAR. Once we have shared these datasets, we can then have access to NUAR.
The only datasets we plan to provide are Conservation Areas and Tree Preservation Orders that are easily accessible by the public anyway.
We first need to sign a Data Exploration Agreement (DEA)which is the purpose of this report.
The reason for the decision is that for very little resource we can gain access to a very useful application.

The decision reached is to sign the DEA.
